What does a Location Manager do?
The Location Manager is one of the most busiest and certainly a massively critical role in any film or television production.
Our core function is to scout, find and secure locations for a shoot. This includes; negotiating the location fees, contracts, organising and arranging parking for all trucks/crew, dealing with all forms of authorities, council and government bodies in arranging the appropriate permits, organising unit bases, notifying relevant stakeholders and managing locations throughout the shooting process from start to finish.
These are just a few examples amongst many other ancillary responsibilities. We work to strict budgetary and time limits and maintaining a high standard of health and safety and security. We are the face of the production to the community, the location and all government bodies.
